About Speed World Challenge

Hale Motorsports will run select events in the Speed World Challege GT series in 2007. The Speed World Challenge GT series features high performance sports cars such as the Ford Mustang, Porsche 911, Dodge Viper, Chevrolet Corvette, Cadillac CTS-V, Mitsubishi Evo, and others racing on road courses and street circuts throughout the United States. The cars retain their stock exterior appearance, but feature upgraded drivetrains, suspensions, lightweight body panels, and a host of other improvements. Factory supported efforts from GM (Cadillac CTS-V), Dodge, and others have raised the level of competition in Speed World Challenge.

Hale Motorsports will campaign a Ford Mustang featuring an all new Elan Power Technolgies power plant featuring a lower center of gravity, lighter weight, and more horsepower and torque for the third year in select Speed World Challenge events. The car retains the look of a Ford Mustang SN95 body but features these modifications:

  • Full Safety System (restraints, seat, fire system, etc)
  • Full Roll Cage
  • Eibach Springs
  • Leeda Shocks
  • Elan Power Technologies Motor (over 500 hp)
  • Tremec Gearbox
  • Carbon Fiber Body Panels
  • Stack Data Acquisition
  • Toyo Proxes RA-1 Tires (F: 305/35ZR18, R: 335/30ZR18)

Randy Hale at Hale Motorsports uses his participation in Speed World Challenge to raise awareness for The Hole In the Wall Gang Camps. From the Camps Website: “The Hole in the Wall Camps are the world's largest family of camps for children with serious illnesses and life threatening conditions. Children with cancer, sickle cell anemia, HIV/AIDS, and many other conditions come to Camp to experience the simple joys of childhood, without compromising any of their medical needs thanks to our state-of-the-art medical care.

To date, more than 100,000 seriously ill children from 34 states and 31 countries have attended our Camps free of charge. We are a not-for-profit organization totally supported by charitable contributions. Hole in the Wall Camps are the dream of actor Paul Newman, who started the first camp in 1988 and has been the driving force ever since.

Hale Motorsports is actively involved with the Camps. We often bring the racecars to The Woodshop 500, a pinewood derby style race held at every camp session, and any area kids are ALWAYS welcome and encouraged to visit the team at any race we’re at. If you’re a Camper, or the family of a camper, and you’d like to visit us at race near you, please email us info@hale-motorsports.com.

Hale Motorsports has undertaken other efforts to support the camps as well. Randy Hale & Hale Motorsports built and auctioned off the Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid Theme Motorcycle at the camps annual charity auction. The bike raised over $70,000 for the camps.
